报告内容:With the rapid decline cost of sequencing, it is now clinically affordable to examine multiple genes in a single disease-targeted test using next generation sequencing. Current targeted sequencing methods require a separate step of targeted capture enrichment during sample preparation before sequencing, and the library preparation process is labor intensive and time consuming. Here, we introduced an amplification-free Single Molecule Targeted Sequencing (SMTS) technology, which combined targeted capture and sequencing in one step. We demonstrated that this technology can detect low-frequency mutations of cancer genes. SMTS has several advantages, namely that it requires little sample preparation and avoids biases and errors introduced by PCR reaction. SMTS can be applied in cancer gene mutation detection, inherited condition screening and noninvasive prenatal diagnosis.
报告人简介:2010年在美国莱斯大学获得博士学位,师从Michael Deem教授,之后在美国斯坦福大学Stephen Quake教授实验室从事博士后研究。在美留学期间获得国家留学基金委颁发的“优秀海外自费留学奖”。2012年入选深圳市海外高层次人才引进”孔雀计划”。2015年入选广东省“特支计划”百千万工程青年人才。贺博士拥有多学科交叉的背景,在基因测序仪研究, CRISPR,网络进化的物理理论,流感病毒进化,免疫组库测序,单细胞基因组学,生物信息学多个领域取得研究突破。贺博士团队于2015年研制出亚洲首个自主知识产权的第三代单分子基因测序仪,得到国内外的广泛关注。贺建奎博士在Physics Review Letters, Science Translation Medicine等国际顶尖学术期刊上发表过多篇论文,其研究成果被Nature Biotechnology,美国华尔街日报,美国麻省理工综述(MIT Technology Review)等主流媒体报道。贺建奎博士注重产业转化,创办了深圳市瀚海基因生物科技有限公司。
